Virgil van Dijk was booed by fans of his former team, Southampton, as Liverpool faced the Saints at their home stadium on Sunday.
The Dutch international moved to Anfield in January, and became the most expensive defender in the world, costing £75 million.
Van Dijk says that he enjoyed his return to St. Mary’s, despite being heavily booed throughout the match.
The 26-year-old even tried to enter his old dressing room, before remembering that he was now playing for the away team.
This pre-game blunder had no impact on him on the field as his new club comfortably beat his former side 2-0, with Mohamed Saleh and Roberto Firmino each scoring a goal for The Reds.
Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has praised Van Dijk’s performance, saying: “He did really well and dealt with the situation fantastically.”
Van Dijk said that he felt that his hostile reception was unfair, but that he “just focused on the game”.
He added that it’s hard for him to see his former club struggle.
He said: “I have a lot of good friends here, I care for the club. It is difficult to get out of the relegation zone but they have quality players.”
Fresh from the red carpet and New York Fashion Week, the biggest make-up trends for 2018 are already emerging.
These are the 2018 make-up trends you can start wearing today.
The traditional cat-eye flick is getting a makeover. Instead of tracing an ultra-sharp wing, round-off the edge instead.
Try tracing the outline first before filling it in, or use a small makeup sponge applicator as a rounded stamp.
Metallic makeup in all colours was a big trend in 2017 and shows no signs of slowing down. Try wearing it subtly by using a clear metallic gloss over your favourite lipstick.
You could also go for a bold metallic look by choosing a frosted or glittery lipstick in an unusual colour. A metallic shimmer also works wonders in a highlighter or eyeshadow.
One of the biggest trends this year is bright, colourful eyeliner. It’s one of the quickest ways to inject colour into a look.
Choose your preferred colour – all shades of blue are very on trend right now – and line your bottom lash line with either eyeshadow or a pencil liner.

According to Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe will not return the land seized from white farmers 18 years ago.
Speaking to supporters of the ruling party, Zanu-PF, on Saturday, Mnangagwa said, “It will never happen”.
Mnangagwa’s statement has dashed the hopes of many white farmers who hoped that they might be able to return to their stolen land.
In December 2017, white farmer, Rob Smart, was able to return to his farm after Mnangagwa heard of his violent eviction while at a conference in Johannesburg, and returned his land to him.
Mnangagwa also previously vowed to stop illegal land seizures and to restore property rights, leading many to believe that all evicted white farmers would be compensated.
In 2000, Zimbabwe began a violent land reform programme which saw thousands of white farmers forced off their land by angry mobs.
The land was redistributed to landless black farmers, which former president Robert Mugabe said was to compensate for oppression under British colonial rule.
Critics have blamed this land reform for the collapse of Zimbabwe’s agricultural production.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Lands, Agriculture and resettlement has announced that all remaining white farmers will be issued with 99-year-leases, instead of five years, as previously.
Actor and heartthrob, Idris Elba, has gotten engaged to his girlfriend, model Sabrina Dhowre.
The 45-year-old got down on one knee at a movie theatre in London, before a preview screening of “Yardie”, which he directed.
The 29-year-old former Miss Vancouver burst into tears as she accepted Elba’s proposal, much to the delight of the audience, who clapped and cheered.
The pair have been dating for one year, and have kept their relationship largely private, only making their red carpet debut together in September 2017.
Elba appears to have had a change of heart about marriage, as he told a UK publication in July 2017 that it was unlikely he would ever remarry.
The actor has had a rocky romantic past, having been married and divorced twice before.
His second marriage, in 2006, lasted just four months. Elba also has two children, one from his first wife, and another a previous relationship which ended in early 2016.

Sony Pictures has released their first teaser trailer for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, “Venom”.
Fans got their first glimpse of Tom Hardy in the film about the notorious supervillain from the Spiderman universe.
Hardy plays Eddie Brock, who has a life-changing encounter with an alien symbiote, which turns him into Venom.
While the teaser trailer does show a brief glimpse of the symbiote imprisoned within a glass container, and its black essence spreading through Eddie’s body, fans will have to wait to see Hardy’s full transformation into Venom.
The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, and also stars Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake and Michelle Williams as Ann Weying.
In the comics, Drake is a doctor who captures Venom to experiment on him, and Weying is Venom’s ex-wife, who later also bonds with the symbiote, to become She-Venom.
Sony reportedly plans for Venom to launch its own franchise, in the same vein as Spiderman: Homecoming.
Venom is set to be released on 5 October 2018.

African National Congress President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has said that immunity from prosecution is not being offered to current South African president, Jacob Zuma.
Ramaphosa has been locked in “transition” discussions with Zuma this week, which are expected to result in Zuma stepping down as president.
Ramaphosa was speaking to the ANC Parliamentary caucus on Thursday, in a meeting seen as unusual, as the ANC usually holds them after the State of the Nation Address (SONA).
SONA was originally scheduled to take place last night, but was postponed indefinitely, for “the best interests of the country”, according to National Assembly Speaker, Baleka Mbete.
According to sources, Ramaphosa said: “Immunity from prosecution is not even on the table. It is not in my powers to give him that.”
The National Prosecuting Authority still has to determine if it will reinstate fraud and corruption charges against Zuma.
Zuma is also a subject of the inquiry into state capture.
Ramaphosa said that his talks with Zuma about the transition of power will be over in “a day or two”.
Meanwhile, opposition parties are planning a national shutdown to protest against the drawn-out process leading to Zuma stepping down.
Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has fuelled speculation that he will be making a move to Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old star, who is regarded by many as the best goalkeeper in the world, recently said that his “heart is in Madrid”, where he was born. His two children also live in Madrid, with his partner, Spanish singer and actress, Edurne.
The La Liga giants have been interested in De Gea for many years, and almost signed him in 2015. However, the proposed deal collapsed on deadline day after the paperwork was filed too late.
According to Spanish media, De Gea remains the club’s top priority this summer.
Real Madrid’s current goalkeeper, Keylor Navas, was linked with Liverpool in the January transfer window, and Los Blancos are concerned that he will leave the club and will need to find a replacement.
Meanwhile, De Gea will reportedly demand at least £375 000 a week to sign a new deal to stay at Manchester United.
